After the original film’s unprecedented success, the sequel and a spin-off, which has since been canceled, were both announced. But Aquaman is undoubtedly coming back, and another significant DC hero’ll join him. Furthermore, the sequel is also directed by James Wan, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick co-wrote it. Without further ado, let’s go through everything you need to know about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Release Date of Aquaman 2

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be shown in theaters on December 25 in the US and December 29 in the UK. However, the initial release date was for December 16, 2022, but was later moved to March 17, 2023, to give time for VFX to be completed. In order to spread out the cost of 2023’s promotion, Warner Bros. Discovery then moved it back to its original date.

The sequel was shot from June 2021 to January 2022, and some reshoots took place in July 2022 because of Batman’s role in the movie.

The charming hunk Jason Momoa will return as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, and Amber Heard will play Mera alongside him. However, the scrutiny of the Jhonny Depp and Amber Heard divorce would have impacted her role of her in the sequel. DC is not yet ready to let go of the original Mera.

In addition to confirming his return as Orm, Patrick Wilson teased, “I can tell you that even [Wan’s] designs for Aquaman 2 are pushing it even further.” Patrick Wilson has been “somewhat informed” on what’s ahead for the deposed King of Atlantis.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also indicated he will be returning, which follows the setup for Black Manta to serve as the central antagonist of the sequel. Furthermore, there are newcomers like Indya Moore as DC villain Karshon and Pilou Asbaek in a mystery role. The returning cast members include Willem Dafoe as Nuidius Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
